In this thought-provoking and timely masterpiece, set in Detroit in 1967, Motown has hit its groove and the Poindexter siblings, Chelle and Lank, are making ends meet by hosting parties in their basement. However, Lank and his friend Sly have dreams beyond the cellar shindigs. When Lank brings home a mysterious woman, the family’s simmering disagreements explode—as the streets erupt.
This production comes direct to Muskegon produced by Detroit Public Theatre (DPT). Dominique Morisseau serves as DPT's Executive Artistic Producer, is a native Detroit playwright of international acclaim, the author of two plays on Broadway this season alone, and is a MacArthur Genius Award Winner.

This March 9-11, the Frauenthal Center is will present Detroit Public Theatre's Detroit '67. In Detroit '67, award-winning playwright Dominique Morisseau takes audiences back in time to the riots of 1967.
