Orpheum Theatre Announces Nominees for the 2014 High School Musical Theatre Awards

On Monday, May 12th, The Orpheum Theatre announced the winners of the 2014 High School Musical Theatre Awards in a dazzling, Tony™ style awards show.

Modeled after the Tony™ Awards and now in its fourth year, The Orpheum's High School Musical Theatre Awards recognizes achievements in all areas of high school musical theatre. This event is part of the National High School Musical Theatre Awards program which includes 30 programs from across the country.

Students and supporters from twenty-eight participating schools gathered at The Orpheum to watch over 200 students perform and accept awards on The Orpheum stage.

The Orpheum's $14.5 million Centre for Performing Arts & Education will supplement existing classroom space for educational programming serving individuals of all ages, add a second performance hall, feature a cutting-edge audio-video lab, and offer facility space that can be rented. The Orpheum's current education initiatives serve 70,000 students, teachers and families annually. Once opened, The Orpheum Centre will allow Orpheum Education programs to serve 100,000 individuals per year.
