The Ogunquit Playhouse kicks off its 85th Anniversary Season with the international smash hit Mamma Mia!, dazzling audiences on stage from May 17 to July 1.

More than 60 million people from around the globe have fallen in love with the characters, the enchanting story and ABBA's timeless music which makes Mamma Mia! the ultimate feel-good show! This sunny, funny, international sensation unfolds on a Greek island paradise when on the eve of her wedding, a young woman's quest to discover the identity of her father brings three men from her mother's past back to the island they last visited twenty years ago.

Non-stop laughs and explosive dance numbers, along with the magic of ABBA's hit songs that include "Super Trouper," "Dancing Queen," "Knowing Me, Knowing You," "Take a Chance on Me," "Thank You for the Music," "Money, Money, Money," "The Winner Takes It All," and "SOS," combine to make this enchanting show a trip down the aisle you'll never forget!

A cast of Broadway veterans will headline the show including Kate Chapman, Jodie Langel, Angie Schworer, David Engel, Fred Inkley, and star of stage and screen Patrick Cassidy.

Let's see what the critics had to say!

Press Herald (April Boyle): Angie Schworer and Kate Chapman join Langel as Donna's best friends, Tanya and Rosie. The three fuel the laughter as they reminisce about their youth in the '70s, when they were a girl group called Donna and the Dynamos. They are a sight to see as they belt out "Dancing Queen" into a hairdryer, curling iron and purple vibrator.

Sea Coast Online (Deborah McDermott): Comedic timing is a tricky thing, especially when it makes up the bulk of the interactions as it does in this musical. With that in mind, you'll want to pay close attention to the interplay between Tanya and Rosie, Donna's former bandmates. Tanya, ably played by Angie Schworer, is a tall, cool glass of water, as one of her three ex-husbands might have said. Indomitable Rosie, played by Kate Chapman, is the funny, fierce friend we all hope we have in our lives.
