Mad Horse Theatre Company continues its successful 28th season with ORPHANS, by Lyle Kessler.

Two brothers live hand-to-mouth in an old home in North Philly. Phillip, sensitive and reclusive, never ventures out into the world. He relies on his older brother, Treat, for survival. But Treat, a violent pickpocket and thief, kidnaps a mysteriously wealthy businessman - who turns the tables on the two brothers and in a strange, hilarious and moving way, becomes their long lost father figure.

Mad Horse Artistic Director Christine Marshall states: "The play's cast is so small, and the action is so tight that the cast needs to be solid and strong. With Company Member Nathan Speckman, former Company Member Michael Kimball, and Guest Artist Dylan Chestnutt, Director Chris Horton has assembled the ideal cast. We're very excited about the energy they generate onstage."

The design team includes Jennifer Halm-Perazone (stage and production manager), Stacey Koloski (set and properties designer), Christine Louise Marshall (costume designer), Tom Wyatt (lighting and sound designer), Allison McCall (assistant stage manager), and Scott Leland (carpenter).

ORPHANS runs March 13 through March 30, 2014. Performance times are Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights at 7:30, and Sunday afternoons at 2pm. All performances are at the Mad Horse Theater in the Hutchins School, 24 Mosher Street, South Portland.

Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for seniors and students. As always, Mad Horse offers Pay What You Can performances each Thursday during the run, as available at the door.

Reservations are strongly recommended. Purchase tickets online at www.madhorse.com or call 747-4148 for more information.
