You're getting married tomorrow. The people you love are here. It's a beautiful day. And if you happen to have invited your distant cousin to the wedding-the cousin no one's seen in years, whose net worth is many hundreds of millions, who inspires you to reconsider, with existential dread, every choice you've ever made-well, at least he won't come. Unless he does.

The Wedding Guest is part of a triptych of plays written for Actors Theatre's Apprentice Company. In its inaugural year, Actors Theatre has commissioned three playwrights-Emily Feldman, Steve Moulds and Brendan Pelsue-to write 3 one-act plays for the company's Ensemble series. Our commissioned playwrights, who are also alumni of Actors Theatre's Apprentice/Intern Company, work closely with three small casts of apprentices to create a story in collaboration with Directing and Literary Interns that will then be performed in unique performance spaces at Actors Theatre or around the community.

Steve Moulds' previous work at Actors Theatre includes Oh, Gastronomy! (2012 Humana Festival) and the ten-minute plays The Talent and Commodity. Other productions include an adaptation of Pirandello's Six Characters in Search of an Author (commissioned by The Hypocrites) and Emergency Prom (University of Texas at Austin). He has cowritten three plays with Diana Grisanti: The Stranger and Ludlow Quinn, a serialized epic for Theatre [502]; The Two Lobbyists of Verona, co-presented by [502] and Kentucky Shakespeare; and The Baker Goes to War for Walden Theatre. Moulds has been a Jerome Fellow at The Playwrights' Center, an NNPN Playwright-in-Residence at Curious Theatre, and an Al Smith Fellow through the Kentucky Arts Council. Moulds is a former member of Actors Theatre's literary office and Intern Company and holds an M.F.A. from the Michener Center at University of Texas at Austin.

The cast of The Wedding Guest will feature 7 Acting Apprentices: Lisa Bol, Michael Fell, Tracey Green, Alejandro Hernandez, Adenike Thomas, and Kyle Whalen, and will be directed by James Kennedy, a Directing Intern.
