The School of Theatre at Florida State University presents TWELFTH NIGHT by William Shakespeare. Director Michael Hayden will bring the immortal words of Shakespeare to life tonight, October 30-November 8 in the Lab Theatre. This light-hearted, romantic comedy, complete with mistaken identities, misplaced love, and a comedic rivalry, will carry the audience laughing and sighing toward their happily-ever-after.

This production of TWELFTH NIGHT features BFA Acting majors Franci Holland (Viola), Cecil Jennings (Sebastian), and Karina Willis (Olivia). TWELFTH NIGHT highlights scenic design by Jason Strom, costume design by MFA Costume Design candidate Joshua Winchester, lighting design by Genny Wynn, and sound design by Tyler Teagle.

Hayden's concept holds true to this classic work as he and the design team have created a truly realistic interpretation of the beloved comedy. Hayden notes that "William Shakespeare's TWELFTH NIGHT may be set during the twelve winter days after Christmas, but on the magical, Mediterranean island of Illyria, it's anything but cold. Viola and Sebastian, separated by a shipwreck, and both believing the other dead, come ashore in search of a safe harbor. Disguised as a man, Viola seeks refuge in the court of the Duke Orsino. What follows is a hilarious roller coaster of mistaken identity, word and sword play, songs, tricks, and above all, love."
