“Why are we wired?” is a fable about a spiritual journey, littered with powerful life lessons. It tells the story of Greg Ryan an English business magnate who at the brink of an awareness crisis, decides to trek on a life-changing odyssey, only to realize that his spiritual guru is an ordinary electrician from South India. The mesmerizing allegory told by the electrician takes us into the life of three sibling electrical wires. Eric Red - a red wire, John Blue - a blue wire & their sister Ivy Yellow - a yellow wire. The story cuts in and out of these three lives across the succeeding decades, from the height of youth through middle age.
Sarah Green introduces them to ‘magnetic energy’ the rogue chemical element of fame,propelling Eric Red’s journey from a vulnerable naked fuse wire to plugging into the corporate system of power grids, contrary to John Blue’s quest from a filament in a light bulb to the bright idea of draping the Eiffel Tower with dazzling luminescence and Ivy Yellow’s deep search for inner peace by relinquishing the charge of the egoistic inner copper core and hang cloths like the mystic ropes.
When their mutual subjective successes vaporize like a mirage, the three of them return to the countryside lake to fish, drawn by nostalgia for the selves they once were and the new quest to fill the empty void in their bucket list. The story has substrata of layers, uniquely blended with electricity, neurobiology, neuromorphics, and consciousness and Upanishad philosophy.
