About Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing and Author Judy Blume

Living with his little brother, Fudge, makes Peter feel like a fourth grade nothing! In this perennial favorite by Judy Blume, Fudge is an almost- three-year-old terror who gets away with everything, and Peter's had it up to here. Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing is a humorous look at family life and the troubles that can only be caused by a younger sibling! Recommended for Kindergarten and up.

Judy Blume grew up in Elizabeth, New Jersey and graduated from New York University in 1961. She has written numerous books, most of which are for children, but some of her novels are for adults. More than 75 million copies of her books have been sold.

Says Blume of Tales..., "When I began to write, our babysitter, Willie Mae Bartlett, brought me an article from the newspaper about a toddler who swallowed a tiny pet turtle. This was in the late sixties, when you could still buy turtles for pets. Willie Mae thought the story might inspire me. And it certainly did! .... I wrote the book, basing the character of Fudge on my son, Larry, when he was a toddler."
