Screenwriter, director, actor and singer Seth MacFarlane will bring his incredible vocal talents to Jones Hall at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 4, lending his baritone voice to hidden gems of the 40's and 50's swing era in a one-night-only Houston Symphony concert.

Although best known for creating the wildly successful animated TV series Family Guy, MacFarlane is also a successful recording artist and credits Frank Sinatra as his biggest musical influence. His third album, No One Ever Tells You, debuted at number one on the iTunes jazz charts last October.

The multifaceted star is no stranger to an orchestral stage. He has traveled the world to perform with renowned orchestras, including the National Symphony Orchestra, the Los Angeles and New York Philharmonics and at the BBC Proms. While in Houston, he will perform a nostalgic program of American popular songs and classics from the Great American Songbook, backed by the full orchestra.

Emmy Award-winning composer and conductor John McNeely will lead the multitalented singer and the musicians of the Houston Symphony in this program of 20th century classics. A longtime friend of the star, McNeely has produced and arranged all three of MacFarlane's albums, including his 2011 debut album which garnered him a Grammy nomination.

The concert will take place at Jones Hall for the Performing Arts, 615 Louisiana Street, in Houston's Theater District. For tickets and information, please call (713) 224-7575 or visit www.houstonsymphony.org. Tickets may also be purchased at the Houston Symphony Patron Services Center in Jones Hall (Monday-Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.). All programs and artists are subject to change.
