Black Lab Theatre to Conclude 2013-14 Season with REALLY REALLY, 4/17-5/4

Black Lab Theatre finishes off the 2013-14 season with Paul Down Colaizzo's Really Really after a critically acclaimed Off-Broadway run headlined by HBO's 'Girls' star Zosia Mamet.

Dubbed "Lord of the Flies with smartphones" by the New York Times and "an explosive look at Generation Me" by the Washington Post, Really Really follows the hazy aftermath of a wild campus party at an elite university. When morning-after gossip about privileged Davis and ambitious Leigh turns ugly, the veneer of loyalty and friendship is peeled back to reveal a vicious jungle of sexual politics, raw ambition, and class warfare where it's every man for himself. Really Really provides a scathing commentary on 'hook up' culture and exposes the darker, destructive elements of today's campus life.

Really Really will run at Frenetic Theater April 17 through May 4 at 8pm on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays plus a Monday Industry Night on April 21.

"Our 2013-14 season is celebrating the diverse experiences of generation Y," notes Jordan Jaffe, Black Lab Theatre artistic director whose 2012-2013 season was praised for welcoming "challenging and pertinent productions" to Houston. "I see Really Really as a work that really captures the essence of the phrase 'Generation Me'." Adds Jaffe, "The play is a no holds barred indictment of everything that is millennial and brings to life the selfish and self-serving attitude tags associated with young people today. I think audiences will appreciate the difficult and dark places Paul goes to make his point."

The production will be directed by Black Lab's Artistic Director Jordan Jaffe, and feature Teresa Zimmerman, Scott Gibbs, Rachel Rubin, Blake Weir, Chelsea Sarratt, Dominique Champion, and James Monaghan. Founded in 2011 by Rice University graduate Jordan Jaffe, Black Lab Theatre focuses on bringing newer, socially conscious shows to audiences in fresh and innovative ways.
