BREAKDOWN

SPECIAL NOTE:
Looking for a strong, dynamic and diverse ensemble of character actors to play multiple roles in a raucous adaptation of Shakespeare's gender bending Twelfth Night. This will be a fast paced performance in the round where 5 actors will play all roles, sometimes changing characters within the scene. Transitions and interstitial music will be a combination of movement and music/rhythms generated by ensemble so being musically inclined, able to move dance and play instruments/ percussion are plusses.

Seeking submissions for the following 3 roles:

[FESTE/ANTONIO]
Feste is the independent wise jokester or clown of this world. Although he is technically servant to Olivia, he certainly doesn't act like he is. Gets paid to make people laugh, offering his wit and wisdom to all who will listen. Musically inclined (plays maybe drums and sings).

Antonio- rescuer/caretaker of found Sebastian. May be crushing on him too.

ACTORS OF ALL ETHNICITIES STRONGLY ENCOURAGED TO SUBMIT

[OLIVIA/ORSINO]
Olivia: Comedic and romantic character mourning the death of her brother. Begins the play cloistered physically and emotionally away from the world around her. Olivia is caught of guard when her heart is suddenly opened with the arrival of Cesario, and suddenly her reserved grief is transformed and unbridled passion

Orsino: The Duke of Illyria who is love sick and melancholy over the unreciprocated affections of Olivia. A bachelor and socialite who loves parties and music as a distraction from the lack of romance he's experiencing in life. Maybe a little petulant and used to getting what he wants. Hopeless romantic and life of the party when he wants to be.

ACTORS OF ALL ETHNICITIES STRONGLY ENCOURAGED TO SUBMIT

[SIR TOBY BELCH/SIR ANDREW AGUECHEEK]
Sir Toby Belch/ Sir Andrew- ANY GENDER - (puppetry skills a plus)

Sir Toby is Olivia's fun- loving free spirited uncle who lives life to the fullest. He's the loud boisterous rabble rouser of the community who does and says what he wants- including drinking, dancing and a sundry other dubious activities of leisure. Also a friend and mentor to his sidekick, Sir Andrew Aguecheek, he shows his nurturing, side as he encourages Aguecheek to step out more in life-

Sir Andrew Aguecheek (puppet that will be manipulated by actor playing Sir Toby) could be considered the real 'fool' of the play. Comedic sidekick to Sir Toby who is naive and easily goaded by Belch. A guest of Olivia's, he hopes that he will become the object of her eye
