ONE MAN
To play late 40s. TO COVER

DEELEY. Worldly, successful, and experienced in both life and love, Deeley travels frequently for his work. Though he has been happily married to Kate for many years, much of her life remains unknown to him; he fears that he cannot understand her properly. He is intrigued not only by Anna’s warmth and openness, but also by the insights she has into his wife’s past.


ONE WOMAN
To play early 40s. TO COVER

ANNA. Though she is effusive, amiable, and popular, both Anna’s past and present lives remain somewhat enigmatic. This air of mystery only adds to her allure. She is as verbose as Kate is reserved and, though they have not seen each other in many years, remains a fiercely loyal friend.

KATE. Though she is devoted to her absent husband, Kate leads a lonesome life. Enigmatic in her own right, her mystery lies in her reserve; even her husband is never sure where her thoughts are. Her speech is concise and largely infrequent. Her calm, quiet exterior conceals a startling past.
