NOTE: Random House Children's Books is seeking an actor to play a character from #1 New York Times bestselling Jodi Picoult and her daughter and co-writer Samantha van Leer’s upcoming young adult novel, OFF THE PAGE, the companion to Between the Lines (a #1 NYT bestseller). The actor will be used primarily for book launch events, a series of videos and a photo shoot for content to be used to promote the novel. The novel will be published by the company’s Delacorte Press imprint on May 19, 2015 with a first printing of 250,000 copies.
SYNOPSIS/ABOUT THE BOOK:
OFF THE PAGE is a humorous, magical, and romantic YA novel that continues the characters introduced in Picoult and van Leer’s first bestselling YA novel, Between the Lines, a story about what happens when happily ever after . . . isn’t. In OFF THE PAGE, sixteen-year-old Delilah is finally together with Oliver—a prince literally taken from the pages of a fairy tale. To exist in Delilah’s world, Oliver must take the place of a regular boy. Enter Edgar, who agrees to take Oliver’s place in Delilah’s favorite book. In this multilayered universe, the lines between reality and fantasy are blurred, and all must be resolved for the characters to live happily ever after.
SEEKING 1 MALE ACTOR FOR:
OLIVER
Male, Caucasian, 18+ to play 16. 5'11 to 6'1, green or blue eyes (or color contacts) and brown hair (or willingness to dye). His build is more of a boy's than a man's, defined features and clean-cut. Not a bad boy, he's charming and affable with a warm smile. Actor must do a British accent.
DATES
• 2 US book launch events (tentatively in NYC and LA) between 5/19 and 5/30
• UK book launch events - first two weeks of June, 2015
• A series of videos (total footage for usage is anticipated to be about 2 minutes) to be filmed over the course of two days in February / March 2015, and to be used online to promote the book release pre-publication.
• Participation in a photo shoot to capture Oliver in various “fantasy meets real-life” scenes outdoors in NYC and indoor set-up shots
