DAMN YANKEES

Seeking:

Mr. Applegate (35-60): humorous, cynical devil, skilled actor with great comedic timing, strong movement abilities, character, baritone, consumed with winning the soul of Joe Boyd.

Joe Boyd (50-65): A middle-aged baseball fanatic who strikes a deal with the devil, despite being consumed with baseball, Joe is deeply in love with his wife. Excellent singer, baritone.

Meg Boyd (40-60): Joe's wife, Meg is devoted, understanding, loving, wrestling with her sense of loyalty and her anger with being abandoned. Mezzo.

Joe Hardy (18-28): Respectful, athletic, handsome, young, clean-cut, all-American type, misses his wife and longs to return to his old life, excellent singer.

Lola (25-35): ultimate seductress, who is hiding a soft and caring heart. Works for Applegate, excellent dancer, singer, comedic actress, good belt.

Gloria(25-35): Feisty reporter, good sense of humor, inquisitive, fighting to survive in a man's world, strong belt voice, strong dance ability.

YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN

Seeking:

Dr. Frederick Frankenstein (late 30s-40s): Brilliant brain surgeon, professor and grandson of mad scientist, boyish and innocent, good comedic timing and stamina. Good movement skills and some tap ability. Vocal range Bb one octave below middle C to G above middle C.

The Monster: Age indeterminate, A big man, the bigger the better. The Misunderstood creation of Dr. Frankenstein. Vocal range Ab one octave below middle C to F above middle C. Also must be able to emit howling/monster/grunting sounds. Knowledge of tap dancing a plus but not vital.

Igor (20-30): Faithful, bright-eyed, eager servant, great comic timing, Good movement skills. Vocal range D below middle C to F above middle C.

Inga (20-30s): Bubbly, sexy, willing assistant. Resident of Transylvania, talks with accent, Vocal range G# below middle C to A above treble staff. Yodeling a plus.

Elizabeth Benning (20-30): deliciously self-absorbed fiance of Frederick, whom she later deserts for the physical abundance of the Monster. Over the top. Great comedic timing. Good belt. Vocal range, F# below middle C to F# top line of treble staff.

Frau Blucher (40-50s): Intense, stern housekeeper of the estate and former love of Dr. Frankenstein. Excellent comedic timing, belt voice. Vocal Range F# below middle C to B, third line of treble staff.

Mr. Bumble (40s-50s): A large pompous man, cruel, gluttonous, and selfish. Excellent singing voice wide range.

Fagin (40s-50s): conniving career criminal, devious, but very personable, runs training academy for young pickpockets, baritone, excellent actor.

Nancy: (22-32): pretty, endearing barmaid with a warm heart, very intelligent, longs for a better life, desperately in love with Bill Sykes, good movement skills, cockney accent, excellent singer with strong belt.

Bill Sykes (25-35): Criminal in his prime, brutish, rough good looks, sociopath who can turn from charmer to killer in an instant, baritone.

THE MUSIC MAN

Seeking:

Harold Hill - 30-40, handsome baritone, charming and comic con man with a sexy edge. Must be masculine, powerful, agile, deft with language and very musical. Must be a very strong actor.

Marian Paroo - 25-35, clear soprano, an intelligent and strong-willed librarian with an attractive undercurrent of sexuality. Must be a legit singer and strong actor. Not a wan ingenue.

Marcellus Washburn - 20-25, charming and energetic tenor, a masculine and upbeat sidekick to Harold. Must be likable, the boy next door who's a little bit bad.

Mayor Shinn - 40-55, an overbearing, comically appealing buffoon who loves being a big fish in a tiny pond. A self-promoting, blowhard mayor, but not a bad guy at heart.

Olin (quartet) - a true bass, must be adept at part singing. Must have classic, clear tone. Quirky, charming, appealing, may be a strong character type.

Dorothy Brock (35-50), an established Broadway star, diva trying to hang on to her glory days, good movement ability, great comedic timing, alto.

Peggy Sawyer (18-25): young, talented, hopeful, innocent and naieve, but with great inner strength. A true triple threat, soprano with great belt and excellent tapper.

Julian Marsh (40s-50s): Broadway show director, intense, passionate and driven, with a soft spot for Peggy. Excellent singer and actor. Baritenor.

Billy Lawlor (20-30): juvenile lead of the show, confident and charismatic song and dance man, excellent tapper and excellent tenor.

THE FANTASTICKS

Seeking

El Gallo/The Narrator
(30-45): narrator of the piece, excellent singer (baritone), attractive, mysterious, warm and cordial and inviting to the audience, yet with darker moments. Above all, he is grand and must command attention.

Matt (18-26): a handsome, vigorous, young love, in love with the idea of being in love, naive and foolish at times, aspires to be the gallant protector. Excellent singer (baritone).

Hucklebee and Bellomy (40s-50s): duo and team. Both must have strong comedic timing. Fathers of Matt and Luisa, Always arguing and bickering, but secretly plotting for the marriage of their children (both baritone).

Henry (40-60): foolish comic actor, moves the plot but contributes nothing, has-been actor, Henry can play grand characters and recite Shakespeare. English accent.

DRIVING MISS DAISY
1st reh: 8/21. Runs: 9/1 - 9/6

Seeking:

Daisy Werthan, a wealthy southern Jewish widow from Atlanta, vital, sharp tongued, quick witted (ages from 72-97), values her independence and resents having to have someone around the house and is loathe to give the impression that she is rich. Excellent southern accent required (high society Atlanta preferred).

Hoke Coleburn, Daisy's chauffeur (ages from 60-85), African American, kind, affable, sentimental and loyal to Daisy, but not so loyal he won't use another job offer as leverage to improve his present position. Also, Hoke keeps his personal business personal.

Boolie Werthan, Daisy's son (ages from 40-65), Daisy’s son who has taken over his father’s printing company. Boolie has a good sense of humor and tolerance for his mother's antics. Over the course of the play, he grows to be one of the city’s leading business figures. He takes good care of his mother but sometimes neglects her feelings.
