--------------
The following role has been CAST. Actors may be considered for possible replacement if needed:

OLD HUW
ROLE CAST.
Late 50s+, male. Narrator recounting his past. Sings a bit. (Low Bb to High G)

Based on Richard Llewellyn's novel, How Green Was My Valley, the musical A Time For Singing details life in a Welsh mining village. Originally opening on Broadway in 1966 (lavishly produced by Alexander H. Cohen) it now returns in concert version as part of the York Theatre's Musicals in Mufti series. NOTE: No need to prepare a Welsh dialect, we anticipate that most characters will employ a rural English dialect, excepting Mr. Griffith, who will have more of an upper-class English dialect.
