From today, September 14 through September 30, Repertory Theatre of Iowa will present the world premiere of Sense And Sensibility, adapted for the stage from the Jane Austen novel by Kerry Skram.

The production will run at the Des Moines Social Club’s Kirkwood Theater.

After two years of writing, stage-reading, and re-writing, the theatre will debut a brand-new, original stage adaptation of the classic. This sweeping tale, set against the backdrop of a romantic English countryside, portrays the life and loves of the Dashwood sisters Elinor and Marianne after the passing of their father Henry. The story follows the young ladies to their new home, a meager cottage on a distant relative’s property, where they experience love, romance and heartbreak.
