New York-based band Swear & Shake's loyal fan base and earnest talent have driven them on tours across the US and into the focal point of fawning critics. The band's star seems to be continually on the rise, and released their fully-Kickstarter-funded LP, Maple Ridge in the summer of 2012, only a year after their formation. The reviews speak for themselves: Time Out New York says Swear and Shake is the “Postcard-perfect indie folk with an undercurrent of sly humor” and New York Times articulates the group in a few words: "Folksy, foot-stomping rock." Newsday praised the band, comparing them to indie darlings Mumford & Sons and Bon Iver. Despite the band's critical acclaim, attending a Swear & Shake show feels like a cozy, crowded room of old friends where a guitar is picked up as the last bottle is poured.

Swear and Shake most recently has shared the stage as direct support for The Lumineers, Delta Rae, G Love & Special Sauce and ZZ Ward. Summer 2013 has seen them performing at such festivals as Shaky Knees, Governors Ball, Mountain Jam, Summer Camp. Despite near constant touring, the band has found time to record new material with an expected release in late 2013. The first single from these recordings has already seen the light of day, as Paste Magazine premiered fan favorite “Brother” in May of 2013.
