The 14 cast members of The Possum Point Players Christmas show "The Trial of Ebenezer Scrooge," have begun rehearsals for the December show. The holiday production is under the direction of veteran PPP director Jim Hartzell who said, "We had a read through of the show after the cast was selected and went right into rehearsals.

The director said the cast is excited and exciting, "It is such a clever story, that the cast of very talented veteran performers is really looking forward to a highly entertaining show." He added, "And the cleverness of it is to be found in the mix of traditional Christmas Carol characters such as Scrooge, Marley, Cratchit, Fan, Belle and the ghosts, and the new characters created because of the trial aspect of the story. There is a judge, the newest King of Humbug, the savvy and clever barrister, Solomon P. Rothschild, and a somewhat dimwitted bailiff."

"Add to that, the many references and direct quotes taken from arguably the most beloved Christmas story ever, and you have a formula for a fun, funny, nostalgic, exciting and a little bit scary show," he concluded.

Show dates for "The Trial of Ebenezer Scrooge" are Dec. 4, 5, 6, 11, 12, and 13; Friday and Saturday shows, 7:30 PM, and Sunday matinees, 2 PM. Tickets are $18; $17 for seniors and students, and may be purchased by call the ticketline, 302-856-4560 or on line at www.possumpointplayers.org.
