Irvine Barclay Theatre previously announced an engagement of Potted Potter, the unauthorized Harry Experience, a parody by Dan and Jeff, for four performances only, tonight, November 14-Saturday, November 16, 2013. Written and performed by two-time Olivier Award-nominated actors Daniel Clarkson and Jefferson Turner, Potted Potter is perfect for ages six to Dumbledore (who is very old indeed). This engagement is the show's Southern California premiere. Potted Potter is presented by Irvine Barclay Theatre and is produced by Starvox Entertainment and Marketing.

Playing to sold-out houses all over the world, the Olivier Award-nominated Potted Potter takes on the ultimate challenge of condensing all seven Harry Potter books (and a game of Quidditch with the audience) into seventy fun-filled minutes. Even if you don't know the difference between a Horcrux and a Hufflepuff, the silly magic of Potted Potter will have you in its spell.

Audience members are invited to come early. Doors will open an hour before each show with a variety of pre-show activities and special Potter menu items at the concessions bar.

Potted Potter was first created as a five minute long, two-man show to entertain bookstore customers waiting in line to purchase the sixth book in the series and was then a comic summary of the first five books. Since then, the piece has been expanded and performed by Children's BBC host team Clarkson and Turner literally thousands of times - at the Edinburgh Festival, in the West End, off Broadway and across America to much acclaim. A critic's Pick by the New York Times, New York Magazine, and Time Out London, Potted Potter won the prestigious 2012 Olivier Award nomination for Best Entertainment & Family Show.

The New York Times said, "The flavor is Monty Python meets vaudeville...Mr. Clarkson and Mr. Turner do indeed tell an abbreviated, ridiculous version of the Boy Who Lived... You don't need to know all the nuances of Hogwarts to enjoy the jokes... Besides, if you miss something, another laugh will be along shortly...The duo cast the perfect spell over the audience."

Irvine Barclay's President Doug Rankin said, "The Barclay is thrilled to be able to bring Potted Potter to southern California for the area premiere. I'm a big fan of the books, and now I'm a fan of Dan and Jeff and their fresh, fun take on the Harry Potter lore."
