La Mirada Theatre to Present BRER RABBIT & OTHER TRICKSTER TALES FROM AROUND THE WORLD, 9/15

La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts kicks off its 2013-14 Programs for Young Audiences series with Boxtales Theatre Company's Brer Rabbit & Other Trickster Tales From Around the World. This 60-minute exciting, story-filled adventure is recommended for audiences ages 4 and up. Performances are Sunday, September 15, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.

Join Boxtales on a humorous and magical journey with wily creatures who will teach you folk wisdom, morals, and life lessons in this collection of Trickster Tales from around the world. Directed by the company, this show features performers Matt Tavianini, Michael Andrews and Deven Sisler and beautiful masks by Ann Chevrefils and Lindsay Rust.

BOXTALES THEATRE COMPANY is an energetic theatre troupe, which uses masks, movement, storytelling and live music to present myths and folklore from around the world. Storyteller Michael Katz, actor Jeff Mills and musician Michael Andrews combine their diverse talents to create a professional, high energy, highly interactive theatrical experience for young audiences.

La Mirada Theatre's Programs for Young Audiences is designed to give children exposure to a diverse mix of national and international touring stage acts while enriching their lives. The season will continue with Story Pirates on November 24, 2013,The Gizmo Guys on December 8, 2013, American Family Theater's The Wizard of Oz on March 2, 2014 and will finish withJim Henson's Sid the Science Kid Live! on March 16, 2014.

All seats are $8 for children and $12 for adults. Special Sid the Science Kid pricing is $13.50 for children and $20 for adults.Subscriptions for all five shows are $34 for children and $51 for adults.
