The Costa Mesa Playhouse opens the musical "The Addams Family," opening Oct. 28, just in time for Halloween.

The Costa Mesa Playhouse continues its 52nd season with "The Addams Family - the Musical," with Tony-nominated music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa and book by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elise, opening Halloween weekend, Oct. 28 and running through Nov. 20, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm, and Sundays at 2pm.

The delightfully ghoulish family created by cartoonist Charles Addams comes to life as a magnificently macabre musical. It's a time of crisis for the Addams family. Gomez and Morticia's daughter Wednesday is growing up. She's now 18-year-old and has fallen in love with a "normal" boy, and has invited him and his parents over for dinner. In one fateful, hilarious night, secrets are disclosed, relationships are tested, and the Addams family must face up to the one horrible thing they've managed to avoid for generations -- change.

"The Addams Family" is directed Jason Holland, with musical direction by Stephen Hulsey and choreography by Daniel Smith. It stars Johnny Fletcher, Erica Weisz, Jillian Barnett, Sean Barnett, Marc Montminy, Hans Kelsen, Jenny McGlinchey, Rich Wordes, Tiffany McQuay, Bryan Edelmann, Cassandra Rieck, Sheri Vasquez, Kat Gutierrez, Kris Peterson, Zoe Gavina, Emily Turner, DJ Price, Jon Meeker, Joshua Vega, Patrick Blankenship, and Eric Anderson

The first performance, Friday Oct. 28, is a preview, for which all seats are $18. Tickets for the opening night Gala on Saturday, Oct. 29, including a post-show Halloween party, are $22 general admission and $20 for students and seniors 60 or over. For all other performances tickets are $20 general and $18 for students and seniors. Groups of 10 or more are $13 each. Reservations can be made at www.costamesaplayhouse.com or by calling 949-650-5269. The Playhouse is located at 661 Hamilton Street in Costa Mesa.
