Jessica Brockmeyer, Managing Director of PHOENIX FESTIVAL THEATER at Harford Community College, is proud to announce the upcoming production of Stephen Sondheim's Company on June 10, 11, 17 and 18 at 8 PM and June 12 and 18 at 3 PM in Harford Community College's Chesapeake Theater.

On his 35th birthday, confirmed bachelor Robert Contemplates his unmarried state. In vignette after hilarious vignette, we are introduced to "those good and crazy people," his married friends, as Robert weighs the pros and cons of married life. In the end, he realizes being alone is "alone, not alive." The show is based on a book by George Furth. Music and lyrics are by Stephen Sondheim.

Bobby's friends (five married couples and three girlfriends) all come together to throw the ultimate bachelor a surprise 35th birthday party. Throughout the evening the audience takes a musical journey through Bobby's mind as he explores his past relationships, and his ultimate fear to commit. Earning seven TONY Awards during its original 1970's Broadway run, Company contains some of composer and lyricist Stephen Sondheim's most popular songs, including: "Company," "The Ladies Who Lunch," "You Could Drive a Person Crazy," "Barcelona," and "Being Alive."
Making his PFT debut, Director Rob Oppel has assembled an outstanding cast with some of the best performers from the greater Baltimore area. Tom Burns leads the cast as Bobby with support from his married friends Meli Mullin-Hartsoe, Greg Bell, Sarah Chrzanowski, Laura Weiss, Troy Hopper, Debra Desmone, Roger Schulman, Robert E. Tucker, and Tammy Crisp. Elisa Dugan, Amy Luchey, and Becca Vourvoulas round out the cast as Bobby's three girlfriends. The cast will be joined by a live on-stage orchestra under the musical direction of Shane Jensen and Alyson Shirk.

The show will play Harford Community College's Chesapeake Theatre from June 10th-18th, 2010. Show times are Friday and Saturday Evenings at 8 PM, with special matinee performances on Sunday June 12th, and Saturday June 18th at 3PM. *Note: there will be NO performance on Sunday June 19th.
