America's Longest Running Chamber Music Festival, Music Mountain, continues its 88th season with Daedalus String Quartet with Tanya Bannister, piano, on Sunday, August 27 (3pm) performing Beethoven and Brahms. Michael Berkeley presents the best of Broadway on Saturday, August 26 (6:30pm)! Concerts are scheduled thru September 17.

It's Saturday night on Broadway with Michael Berkeley & Friends! Celebrate the dazzle of Broadway show tunes with Michael Berkeley and Diva favorites Wanda L. Houston, Amy LeBlanc and Maria B. Hickey. Director and Musical Director, Michael Berkeley served as Resident Musical Director and Artistic Director at the TriArts Sharon Playhouse for almost two decades. Additionally, Mr. Berkeley has directed and arranged shows for theatres around the country and spent many years as an Equity actor, having appeared on stages across the country.

Keeping with long-standing tradition, the Saturday Twilight Series features pre-concert dinners at the quaint Falls Village Inn. Experience a piece of history in this 175-year-old Inn before celebrating the best of Broadway!

Sunday afternoon welcomes Daedalus String Quartet with guest artist Tanya Bannister, piano, offering an exemplary program of Beethoven and Brahms. Beethoven: String Quartet in F Major, Opus 18 #1; Beethoven: String Quartet in F Minor, Opus 95 "Serioso;" and Brahms: Piano Quintet in F Minor, Opus 34.

Praised by The New Yorker as "a fresh and vital young participant in what is a golden age of American string quartets," the Daedalus Quartet has established itself as a leader among the new generation of string ensembles. The Daedalus Quartet has impressed critics and listeners alike with the security, technical finish, interpretive unity, and sheer gusto of its performances. The Quartet has performed in many of the world's leading musical venues including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, the Library of Congress, the Musikverein in Vienna, the Mozarteum in Salzburg, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Cité de la Musique in Paris, and in leading venues in Japan.

Lauded by The Washington Post for playing "...with intelligence, poetry and proportion," pianist Tanya Bannister's recent victories at the Concert Artists Guild International Competition and the New Orleans International Piano Competition confirm her status among the leading pianists of her generation. Ms. Bannister has performed at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Salle Cortot in Paris, Teatro Communale in Bologna, Tokyo's Nikkei Hall, London's Queen Elizabeth and Wigmore Halls, The Kennedy Center in Washington DC, and Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall.

Music Mountain is located in Falls Village, Connecticut on Music Mountain Road, where a short scenic drive will bring you to GorDon Hall atop Music Mountain. Free parking and picnic facilities are available.

Chamber music concerts continue with Shanghai String Quartet (September 2 & September 3); Amernet String Quartet with Vivek Kamath, Viola (September 10); and Juilliard String Quartet (September 17).

The Saturday Evening Twilight Series continues with The Galvanized Jazz Band (September 9); and Jive By Five (September 16).

Saturday evening pre-concert dinner at the intimate Falls Village Inn (5pm) is $70. Ticket includes dinner & concert. Seating is limited; reservations must be made 24 hours prior to concert date.

Specially Priced Concerts are as follows: Tickets for the Labor Day Benefit Concert & Reception on Sunday, September 3 (3PM) with The Shanghai String Quartet, guest artist Qing Jiang, piano, are $75. Tickets for the closing concert on Sunday, September 17 (3PM) with The Juilliard String Quartet are $60.

Chamber Music Concerts are $35. Twilight Series Concerts are $30. Children ages 5-18 are admitted FREE for ALL CONCERTS when accompanied by a ticket holder. Saturday Twilight Concerts are at 6:30pm. Sunday afternoon Chamber Music concerts are at 3pm. Group rates are available. Discounts apply through participating organizations.
