BWW Reviews: Uncle Fester Takes Flight in THE ADDAMS FAMILY
Granted, trying to marry avant-garde sensibility with Broadway goals is difficult. (The Lion King being a noted exception.) The result, in New Haven at least, is a show that "works," but doesn't seem to have much artistic passion, much less reason to be, other than commercial appeal. It's a sitcom with songs stretched to two hours. All that's missing is the laugh track.
