Production of the theatre more Julio Mario Santo Domingo with the participation of the National Symphony Orchestra of Colombia, the choir of the Opera de Colombia and the lyrical Art Foundation, under the direction of Rodolfo Fisher. Tino Fernández stage direction and dramaturgy Juliana Reyes. Soloists are soprano Viviana Rojas, Santiago Bürgi tenor and baritone Patricio Sabaté.
Carmina Burana is the most famous work of the German composer Carl Orff and is based on the homonymous work Carmina Burana, a collection of goliardos songs of the 12th and 13th centuries gathered in a manuscript found in Benediktbeuern in the 19th century.
The collection attracted Orff by the diverse of his verses, written by monks and minstrels, who were humorous, sad and suggestive. Orff chose around twenty verses at random and arranged them in raw songs for soloists and choirs.
