As German troops begin their campaign to "relocate" all the Jews of Denmark, 10-year-old Annemarie Johansen's family takes in Annemarie's best friend, Ellen Rosen, and conceals her by pretending she's part of the family. A fictionalized account of the true story about the Danish Resistance smuggling almost the entire Jewish population of Denmark — nearly 7,000 people — across the sea to Sweden.
