2017 Summer Internship Program - New York Classical Theatre

LISTING INFORMATION

As we prepare for our 18th season, New York Classical Theatre is proud to have served nearly 200,000 people with over 600 all-FREE performances of classical theatre in New York City’s public parks. Our singular staging style Panoramic Theatre—placing the audience at the center of the action—promotes a unique, intimate relationship between the actor, audience and venue. The texts may be hundreds of years old, yet exquisite public spaces, free admission and innovative staging makes these works accessible for all.

This summer season, all of our interns will have the opportunity to get a behind the scenes look at one of the most unique, cutting edge Off-Broadway theatre companies in New York City by working closely with and learning from professional directors, actors, designers, and stage managers.

New York Classical Theatre productions are produced under an AEA Off-Broadway Transition Contract. Interns will receive a $50 stipend per week and an unlimited MTA MetroCard during their time with us. Additionally, interns will be mentored by an Associate Artist and have the opportunity to attend 4-5 Master Classes in such areas as Voice & Speech, Directing, Casting, Producing and Career Development. This internship requires commitment for the full rehearsal and run of the production.* EMC points are available only for Stage Management Interns. All interns may earn college credit toward a degree program if granted permission from their respective institutions.
