'The Crucible' presented by Cincy Shakespeare & Xavier U, Opens Oct. 25

Cincinnati Shakespeare Company and Xavier University's Department of Music & Theatre are proud to announce a co-production of Arthur Miller's "The Crucible". This production will be directed by Cincinnati Shakespeare Company's Producing Artistic Director, Brian Isaac Phillips and will feature actors from CSC's Resident Ensemble as well as Xavier University theater students.

This production will feature a cast comprised of some of Cincinnati's favorite actors including Bruce Cromer as Danforth, Michael Bath as Francis Nurse, Stephen Skiles as Reverend Parris, Sara Clark as Abigail Williams, Kelly Mengelkoch as Elizabeth Proctor, Brent Vimtrup as John Proctor, Torie Wiggins as Tituba and Billy Chace as Giles Corey. The rest of the cast will be comprised of Xavier University theater students.

In Salem in the late 1600s, a group of young girls accuse others of witchcraft sparking an alarming series of events. The leaders of the church respond with suspicion and put those accused on trial for their lives ultimately leaving a town in fear, and the man at the center of it all questioning his faith and morality. One of the greatest American plays of all time and winner of the 1953 Tony Award for Best Play, this heart-pounding drama is both a gripping historical play and a timely parable of our contemporary society.

Performances of "The Crucible" are scheduled from October 25- November 3, 2013 at the Xavier University Gallagher Student Center Theatre. Single ticket prices are $30 for adults, $26 for seniors, $20 for Xavier faculty/staff and only $15 for students.
