Cincinnati Shakespeare Company to Host REVEL & FEAST, 4/23

Cincinnati Shakespeare Company has announced their new event titled "Revel and Feast", an inspired Awards Ceremony and Celebration marking Cincinnati Shakespeare Company's 20th Anniversary Season, on April 23 - Shakespeare's 450th birthday - at Memorial Hall. That evening, CSC will commemorate 20 years of bringing Shakespeare and Classical Theatre to the Queen City and its completion of Shakespeare's 38-play Canon - a rare accomplishment and distinction among US theater companies.

This event will take place at Memorial Hall in OTR. The evening will begin in the Memorial Hall Auditorium with a performance featuring the CSC Company joined by 38 students from 38 different schools in the region celebrating the 20th anniversary and completing the canon! Guests will then be invited into the Memorial Hall Green and Gold Rooms for custom cocktails at the open bar and a Shakespeare inspired dinner menu (see below). Guests can also take pictures in the Shakespeare Photo Booth, wearing and posing with props and costumes from productions at Cincinnati Shakespeare over the last 20 years!

In addition to the event's performances, retrospectives, live music, open bar and dinner, CSC will bestow the very first Globe Award to Dr. William McKim. Emeritus professor of English at Northern Kentucky University, Bill has been dedicated to making Shakespeare accessible and exciting through his university career and longtime leadership of the Mercantile Library's Canon Club. The Swan Award will honor Dr. Niamh O'Leary of Xavier University for her passion and commitment to Shakespeare in our schools. Finally, CSC will present the Rose Award to local student Katherine Sallee in recognition of excellence in bringing the Bard to life.

The evening will kick off with a pre-performance VIP reception in Memorial Hall's elegant Park View Room, and then the evening's entertainment and awards ceremony in the Historic 1908 Auditorium. Afterwards, guests will gather in the Green and Gold rooms for classic cuisine and a toast to the first 20 years of CSC with many, many more to come.

Over the last 20 years, CSC has brought classical theatre and literature to life for over 200,000 students from 150 schools in more than 100 zip codes across three states. This close connection with students and educators has inspired them to take on an exciting new endeavor. On the evening of April 23rd, CSC will unveil an initiative called PROJECT 38, which will bring students, schools and communities together across the Cincinnati Region. PROJECT 38 will provide the company with opportunities to create art not just for, but with students.
