Comedic actor, writer and producer Andre Hyland has been busier than usual, shooting a Fox Television pilot and interviewing cast members of movies including "Horrible Bosses 2" and "Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb" for Funny or Die. Now, the Cincinnati native is planning a CD release show tonight, December 27, while he is home for the holidays.

Hyland's upcoming CD is titled "Comedic Musings by Andre Hyland as Read by Terry Brumfield." Brumfield is a fictional character who narrates a series of sketches featuring the Los Angeles-based Hyland and other performers. The CD also includes excerpts from past live shows.

"This album was a different kind of project for me," he said. "Most of my material is visual, because it's on stage or on camera. The album relies more on dialogue."

Hyland's live show in Cincinnati will include monologues and sketches, as well as a screening of a new short film featuring one of his most popular characters, Jesse Miller.

Earlier this month, Hyland completed a pilot for Fox Television, titled "Topics with Andre Hyland," in association with Party Over Here, the production company co-owned by former "Saturday Night Live" co-star Andy Samberg and his Lonely Island partners, Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccone. "Topics with Andre Hyland" is described as a hidden-camera show in which Hyland interacts with unsuspecting people.

Hyland has also been hosting celebrity interviews for Funny or Die, most recently with stars of the movie "Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb," in which actors Ricky Gervais and Ben Stiller drew risqué pictures on his face with a Sharpie. "I wanted their autographs, but I didn't have any paper, so they wrote on my face," Hyland said. "I didn't realize until later that Ricky Gervais spells his name with a silent boner."

"Comedic Musings by Andre Hyland as Read by Terry Brumfield" will take place on December 27 at 8:00 p.m., at the Ice Cream Factory, 2133 Central Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45214. Free admission. Information about Andre Hyland is available at www.blondchili.com or on Twitter @andrehyland.
