Transgressive Theatre-Opera presents a glimpse into the funny and passionate life and art of one of the world's greatest playwrights with A CHEKHOV TRIO, made up of composer Dominick Argento's The Boor and A Few Words about Chekhov, and the Midwest premiere of Richard Wargo's The Seduction Of A Lady. The Boor is based on Chekhov's play of the same name, A Few Words about Chekhov intertwines Chekhov's love letter to his wife Olga with sections of the journal she wrote after his death, and The Seduction of a Lady takes its text from Neil Simon's play, The Good Doctor, based on Chekhov's short stories. A CHEKHOV TRIO is directed by Aaron Hunt, with music direction by Sarah Jenks and John D. Cockerill, and will play June 10, 11 and 12, 2016 at The Piccolo Theatre at 600 Main Street in Evanston. Tickets are currently available at http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/2548992 or by calling (800) 838-3006. The performances are Friday, June 10 at 7:30, Saturday, June 11 at 7:30, and Sunday, June 12 at 2:00.

A CHEKOV TRIO: The Boor, A Few Words about Chekhov, and The Seduction of a Lady will feature David Govertsen, Charissa Armon, Mary Lutz Govertsen, Michael Reyes, Jonathan Wilson, Paul W. Thompson, Anne Slovin, and Steven Arvanites.

A CHEKHOV TRIO takes the audience on a perusal of both the master's plays and his short stories. The artist who created wildly funny and deeply tragic characters is brought into focus as his public work is contrasted with his most private correspondence.

The production team for A CHEKHOV TRIO includes: Paul Knappenberger (lighting designer), and Robert Eric Shoemaker (props designer).
