The Second City Sets Opening for New Mainstage Revue

The Second City is proud to announce the opening of their 105th Mainstage Revue, The Winner...of Our Discontent. Reviewing press are invited to attend the show on Friday, December 9, 2016 at 8:00 p.m. at The Second City Mainstage Theater (1616 N Wells St.). A Grand Opening is scheduled for Thursday, December 15 at 8:00 p.m.

The Winner...of Our Discontent asks if it's broken, should we fix it? No matter the answer, this cast will have you cracking up and splitting your sides. The country's premier sketch comedy troupe delivers a post-election shot in the arm that'll heal you with big laughs. So whether you voted for the Right, the Left, or the wrong (Independent), you'll love watching The Second City pick up the pieces in a comedy that shows our differences are what makes America truly great.

Directed by Mainstage alum, e.t.c. Director and Associate Artistic Director of the Training Center Anthony LeBlanc, The Winner...of Our Discontent is written and performed by veteran cast members Paul Jurewicz, Rashawn Nadine Scott and Jamison Webb, with new cast members Shantira Jackson, Kelsey Kinney and Martin Morrow. Craig Taylor returns as Stage Manager, and Vinnie Pillarella joins as Musical Director and Composer. The producing team for The Winner...of Our Discontent includes Andrew Alexander (CEO & Executive Producer), StEve Johnston (President), D'Arcy Stuart (Chief Operations Officer), Alison Riley (Producer) and Lesley Stone (Associate Producer).

Tuesday - Thursday @ 8:00 p.m.

SHANTIRA JACKSON (Ensemble) Shantira is so excited to be a part of The Second City's 105th Mainstage Revue. She hails from Tallahassee, FL, and is a graduate of The Florida State University! Go Noles! She is an inaugural Bob Curry Fellow, a Second City TourCo Alum and can be seen performing all over the U.S. with her team 3Peat! PAUL JUREWICZ (Ensemble) has been performing on the Mainstage for the last two years; this is his third Mainstage revue. He's traveled the world on sea and land with The Second City. He is a founding member of the sketch comedy groups Germans and Dog Dads. He's proud to have been a part of many Annoyance Theatre productions including Co-Ed Prison Sluts, It's Christmas Goddammit, The Raven and The Messenger, and Becker. KELSEY KINNEY (Ensemble) is a Cleveland native and long-time lover of all things make-believe. MARTIN MORROW (Ensemble) Martin is honored to be a part of The Second City's 105th Mainstage Revue. Originally from Birmingham, AL; Martin is a graduate of Auburn University. He is an alumnus of The Second City Touring Company (ShRed Co!), improvises with the likes of 3Peat and Potential Boyfriends, and is a producer of Comedians You Should Know. He was named a New City Stage Top 50 Players of 2016 and one of the top up-and-coming comedians in the country by Splitsider.
He has been seen on NBC's Last Comic Standing, Comedy Central's Why? with Hannibal Buress, and a print ad for Skittles. He would like to thank his family, friends, and the Second City staff for their constant support and dedicates his performance in memory to his father, Keith Morrow. RASHAWN NADINE SCOTT (Ensemble) is jumping for joy going into her second Mainstage Revue. A soul singer from the Pacific Northwest found her way to Chicago and began working with The Second City. She was previously in Main's 104th Revue Fool Me Twice, Deja Vu, e.t.c.'s 39th revue Soul Brother, Where Art Thou?, Second City + Hubbard Street Dance Company's collaboration The Art of Falling, and understudied for the SC's Touring Company. She was a recipient of the inaugural Bob Curry Fellowship.
Rashawn grew up in Tacoma, WA, attended Western Washington University and in another life would be a world class glassblower. (There's still time) She would like to thank her family and friends for their constant support even when all she wants to do is eat gummy bears and watch cartoons. @rashawnscott

JAMISON WEBB (Ensemble) hails from Fort Myers, Florida, and is a graduate of the University of Florida, where he performed sketch and improv with Theatre Strike Force. He has performed around Chicago at iO and the now defunct but forever beloved Upstairs Gallery. He thanks his family, Holly, RedCo, Paonessa Talent, and his friends for their love and support. ANTHONY LEBLANC (Director) is from Beaumont, TX. He performed with Boxaganga while obtaining a Computer Science and Physics BS at Loyola University New Orleans. He directed The Second City e.t.c.'s Soul Brother, Where Art Thou?, and wrote and performed two Second City Chicago Mainstage revues; America: All Better and Taming of the Flu. He is also the Associate Artistic Director of the Second City Training Center in Chicago. He hopes that Second City helps him one day realize his dream of working for NASA, programming A.I. computer systems. He thanks Mom, Dad, David, Katie, Matt, his friends...and of course...Stephen Hawking.

VINNIE PILLARELLA (Musical Direction, Original Music, Sound Design) is a Chicago native and is excited to be sitting behind the piano for this incredible show. He is a veteran of The Second City Touring Company and has created music in theaters around the city, including The Annoyance, iO, Public House, and Silk Road Rising. Thanks to his supportive family, friends, and to his bandmates in Biographer and SINGHVAZQUEZPILLARELLA!

Craig Taylor (Stage Manager) has stage managed more than 35 revues for The Second City and has been asked to provide the impossible for numerous Second City directors.
