Rivendell Theatre Ensemble, celebrating 21 years as the only professional theater dedicated to advancing women's lives through theater, is hosting its annual fundraising event Rivendell's 2016 Salon and Benefit. The event will be held Thursday, June 16th from 6:00-9:00pm at The Flower Firm, 451 N. Wood St in Chicago. More than 200 Rivendell supporters and theatergoers are expected to attend.

Rivendell Theatre Ensemble will honor playwright and novelist Anne V. McGravie with the 2016 WREN Award for her extraordinary work on behalf of women in the arts and to celebrate her 90th birthday. Her play Wrens was the inaugural production of Rivendell Theater Ensemble and its two productions (in 1996 and 2012) garnered critical acclaim and recognition from the Joseph Jefferson Committee.

The event co-chairs are Jason D. Cox and Rebecca Spence. The suggested attire is relaxed cocktail. Tickets and raffle entries are available from the box office 773-334-7728 or online at www.RivendellTheatre.org.
