Moscow Ballet Holds Two Chicago Area Auditions 8/22, 27

The legendary Moscow Ballet is holding two open auditions in the Chicago area in their search for talented young dancers ages 6-18 to perform in their annual Chicago production of "The Great Russian Nutcracker." Auditions are scheduled for Friday, August 22, 2014, at Dance Quest, 14511 S. New Van Dyke Rd., Plainfield, Illinois and on Wednesday, August 27, 2014, at the Southport Performing Arts Conservatory (SPACE) located at 3433-37 W. Peterson Ave., Chicago. Auditions begin at 4:30 p.m. and are open to all talented boys and girls in the Chicagoland area ages 6-18 that have at least two years of ballet training and are no more than five feet tall. Applicants must be dressed in ballet attire and bring pointe shoes if on pointe. A prepared piece will not be needed. All children auditioning must be able to commit to a rehearsal and performance schedule. Selected dancers will appear in costumed character roles alongside the full corps of Russian dancers in one of two performances of the Moscow Ballet's December 7, 2014, production of "The Great Russian Nutcracker" held at the Rosemont Theatre in Rosemont, Illinois.

Audition schedule for both Plainfield and Chicago are as follows:
Ages 6-8 4:30 p.m.
Ages 9-11 6:00 p.m.
Ages 12-18 7:30 p.m.
