 Colored Lights

Broadway, Recording & Concert Star Brings Hit New York Show To Chicago June 2-5

Award-winning and acclaimed Broadway, television, concert and recording star KT Sullivan brings her New York hit one-woman show Colored Lights to Chicago June 2nd for a limited four show performances. Sullivan has appeared with Sting on Broadway in The Threepenny Opera and performed sold-out concerts at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center in New York. Ms. Sullivan's Broadway shows include George Abbott's Broadway and the lead role that made Carol Channing a star in the revival of Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. She has also appeared in the workshop production of Easter Parade with Tommy Tune and off-Broadway in Splendora and My Name is Still Alice. She received Drama Desk and Lucille Lortel nominations and a MAC Award for American Rhapsody: George Gershwin to the World, which she co-wrote and starred with Mark Nadler. (Mark Nadler is currently in town performing in his one man show Russian On The Side at the Royal George Theatre.)

Using her own Broadway and off-Broadway experiences as a departure point, Sullivan performs a century of musical theater gems including selections from Cole Porter, Rodgers & Hart, Lerner & Lowe, Jerry Herman, Stephen Sondheim and Adam Guetel. Colored Lights takes place at Davenport's, 1383 N. Milwaukee Ave, Chicago, for three nights only. Show times are Monday, June 2, Wednesday, June 4 and Thursday June 5 at 8pm with a $30 cover charge and two-drink minimum.

Joining KT will be acclaimed jazz pianist Jon Weber, whose CD Simple Complex was named "The Year's Best Jazz Recording" by Chicago Tribune jazz critic Howard Reich. There will also be a special late night show on Thursday, June 5 at 10:30pm with a $20 cover charge and two-drink minimum for that performance. Due to high ticket demand for this engagement, reservations are recommended by calling 773.278.1830.

One of the nation's most in-demand interpreters of the American popular songbook, KT has been a regular headliner at the Oak Room of New York's Algonquin Hotel since 1992. She has performed all over the world, from Town Hall in New York, Live on the Park in London, La Nouvelle Eve in Paris, The Chichester Festival in the U.K. and at The Adelaide Festival in Australia.
