Most people know Kevin Smith from the movies he's directed and starred in like Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back and Jersey Girl, but others know him as Silent Bob of Jay & Silent Bob with his partner Jason Mewes.

Kevin Smith has done a lot for the film industry and just recently went into directing for TV for shows like CW's The Flash. He also has a new horror trilogy he's been filming called the True North trilogy with films like Tusk, the new film Yoga Hosers and an unnamed forthcoming film to complete the trilogy.

Besides being a filmmaker and actor, Smith is also a great storyteller, and that's exactly what he did when he entertained the crowd at Zanies Comedy Club for not one but 2 sold out shows! With 5 podcasts/stand-up releases, Smith brings his special kind of comedy to Rosemont.

As soon as Smith stepped on the stage he forewarned everybody that usually he likes doing a Q&A with the audience but he assures them this is going to be different. He's going to be telling 2 longs stories and may only have time for at least 2 questions that evening.

His first long story was about how he realized one of his best friends was gay and how he figured it out. You may think, "How is that funny?" Well, there was a lot along with it. Overall, it was a great story and he told it well. The other long story he told was how he got to have a cameo as the "fat Stormtrooper" in Star Wars Episode VIII: The Force Awakens.

Kevin Smith is a fantastic storyteller and you can tell the guy is FULL of stories to tell, hence why all the DVD specials. Other than those stories, as I said before, he did take a couple questions from the audience. Like, for instance, the last question was about his direction for an episode of CW's The Flash. He then went on about how he got asked to direct and how much Jason Mewes was an influence to him on that.

It was a great evening of comedy and storytelling and Kevin Smith at his best. I highly recommend going to see him at a city near you as you will laugh your face off.
