Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson joined the Sandy Hook Student Chorus this evening at the Super Bowl, singing "America the Beautiful" with 26 students from Newtown, Conn.'s Sandy Hook Elementary School during the pre-game show of Super Bowl XLVII. Watch the performance below!

The choir performed in memory of the 26 students and faculty who were tragically gunned down on December 14th in what has become the second deadliest school shooting in American history.

Hudson skyrocketed to stardom with her film debut in Dreamgirls, which earned her the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. Hudson's self-titled debut album won the Grammy for Best R&B Album in 2008. She released her sophomore album, I Remember Me, in early 2012. Hudson can next be seen on the upcoming second season of NBC's SMASH.
