The wife of Saeed Abedini, the Iranian-American pastor and U.S. citizen who has been held captive in Iran for nearly three years for his faith, will speak about the plight of her husband and other Christians imprisoned in Iran on Trinity Broadcasting Network's Praise the Lord ministry and talk show, Tuesday April 14th.

Since July 2012 Pastor Saeed has been held captive in Iran because of his work with underground churches and believers in his native country. Convicted by an Islamic judge in January 2013 and sentenced to eight years for "undermining the national security of Iran," Saeed has been languishing in Iran's notorious and deadly prisons for over two years.

Meanwhile, with the assistance of Jay Sekulow and the American Center for Law and Justice, Saeed's wife Naghmeh has been working tirelessly on behalf of her husband, appealing to the White House, U.S. lawmakers, and international organizations for help in securing his release.

Her efforts, and the prayers of thousands of concerned individuals around the world, have borne fruit. In January President Barack Obama met with Naghmeh and her two children at the Abedinis' home in Idaho, assuring them that getting Saeed back home is a priority for his administration.

That news brought encouragement to Pastor Saeed, who heard of it from his prison cell in Iran and wrote to thank President Obama. "I was personally encouraged that you were in my hometown of Boise, Idaho and made time to visit my wife and children," wrote Pastor Saeed. "They have had a heavy burden to carry in my absence, and your presence helped to relieve some of that burden.... Thank you again for standing up for my family and I and for thousands of Christians across the world who are persecuted for their faith in Jesus Christ. President Obama, you have my prayers from inside of these walls. I pray for God's guidance, wisdom, and blessing for you as you lead this great nation."

TBN Vice President Matthew Crouch said that it is crucial for Christians to be made aware of the imprisonment and persecution of Pastor Saeed and others around the world who are paying a heavy price for their Christian faith. "Naghmeh Abedini has an important message for us to hear," he said. "It's a message that should drive us to our knees in prayer for our brothers and sisters being imprisoned and punished for the 'crime' of loving Jesus."

Join us Tuesday, April 14th, at 7 p.m. Pacific (9 p.m. Central, 10 p.m. Eastern) for TBN's Praise the Lord, as host Daniel Kolenda welcomes Naghmeh Abedini, along with world-famous cross-carrying evangelist Arthur Blessitt, cardiologist and heart-health expert Dr. Chauncey Crandall, revivalist Eric Gilmour, and singer-songwriter Roy Fields.
