The CW Cancels EMILY OWENS, M.D., Starring Mamie Gummer; Will Air Produced Episodes

According to Deadline.com, The CW's medical drama "Emily Owens, M.D." starring Mamie Gummer, has been cancelled.

The show will finish production on its 13-episode order next week, with The CW airing all produced episodes. Last night's episode of "Emily Owens" drew 1 million viewers and 0.3/1 for adults 18-49, bringing it in below The CW's Hart Of Dixie, Arrow and Beauty And The Beast.

EMILY OWENS, M.D. stars Gummer as a surgical intern, Emily, who discovers, much to her dismay, that working in a hospital feels an awful lot like high school. The show premiered this October and also stars Justin Hartley as Will, Michael Rady as Micah, Aja Naomi King as Cassandra, Kelly McCreary as Tyra and Necar Zadegan as Gina.

EMILY OWENS, M.D. is from CBS Television Studios and Warner Bros. Television with executive producers Jennie Snyder Urman ("90210," "Lipstick Jungle"), Dan Jinks ("Pushing Daisies," "Milk") and Bharat Nalluri ("Tsunami").

Gummer has appeared on Broadway in this year's production of The Columnist as Abigail and in the 2011 Broadway revival of Arcadia as Chloe Coverly. The actress also had a guest starring role on last season's 'Smash' on NBC. Her other TV credits include Nickelodeon's 'Gigantic.'
