Long-running television show 'The Simpsons' premiered last night on Fox, and brought with it the demise of a minor, but memorable, character on the show.

It was announced more than a year ago that the premiere episode of Season 26 would bring with it the death of a character, and fans have been speculating for a while now who it might be.

Matt Groening's 'The Simpsons' is widely known as the longest-running American sitcom, the longest-running American animated program, and as of 2009, the longest-running American scripted primetime television series. The show follows the iconic, yellow-toned Simpsons family through a variety of crazy adventures.

Killing a character is not a new feat for 'The Simpsons,' as it has featured at least three major character deaths in the past: 'Bleeding Gums' Murphy, Maude Flanders, and Doctor Marvin Monroe.

As for the infamous death in the premiere episode of season 26? It was Krusty the Klown's father, Rabbi Hyman Krustofski. In the moments before his passing, Krusty's father mutter a simple, 'Ehh...' in assessment of his son's comedic ability.
