In a new interview with Cinemablend.com, director Colin Trevorrow discussed how the STAR WARS 9 saga will continue without the presence of Princess Leia. The iconic character was portrayed in several of the film's previous installments by actress Carrie Fisher, who passed away in 2016.

"She was a major character, that's not a secret. She really was," he explains. "And it was extremely sad for all of us, mostly just because she was so loved by the Star Wars family and everyone that worked with her.
