A Sharknado is devouring retail outlets all over the world!

Syfy, The Asylum and Earthbound LLC today announced more than 20 merchandising partners and licensees have been secured for the social media and pop culture global sensation, comprising over 1,000 retail outlets offering more than 45 fin-tastic consumer product categories.

The eagerly anticipated Sharknado 2: The Second One premieres on Syfy Wednesday, July 30 at 9PM (ET/PT) and internationally to Syfy viewers in 86 countries within 24 hours of its U.S. premiere.

Sharknado will be branded on posters, jewelry, Halloween costumes, sleepwear, t-shirts, boxer shorts, socks, swim trunks, car decals, towels, holiday stockings, shot glasses, tumblers, drinkware, backpacks, collectibles and mobile accessories, among other products, in retail outlets from Wal-Mart and Hot Topic to Spencer's.

Top selling Sharknado items include Funko's Sharknado Pop! Vinyl Figure, Sharknado beach towels and Sharknado boys pajamas.

"Whether it's crazy hats, jewelry or boxer shorts, Syfy fans simply can't get enough of Sharknado. We listened. Now we've given them what they want," said Jeff Li, Vice President, Syfy Ventures. "As Sharknado consumed social media last year, now it is swallowing up the world of merchandising. This wide range of products underscores the insatiable public appetite for Sharknado."

"The Sharknado brand has become part of the worldwide vernacular. It is an incredibly fun, exploitive, cult phenomenon. It has shown to be the perfect fit for a wide range of unique merchandise while providing partners with opportunities to increase retail sales. We see Sharknado as an extension of The Asylum's unique brand. Working with Earthbound and Syfy, we are thrilled to have product everywhere including apparel, collectibles and other merchandise worldwide," said David L. Garber, Producer of Sharknado and Sharknado 2.

"Working with Syfy and The Asylum capitalizes on our expertise in defining and implementing effective branding programs to drive business growth for our clients and their partners.
