Oxygen Names Susie Castillo as New On-Air Personality

Oxygen Mediaannounced today that actress, model, and television host Susie Castillohas been named as the on-air network personality. In her new role, Castillo will engage Oxygen consumers and build brand awareness providing coverage of all things relevant to young women in pop-culture and participating in multiple social media initiatives for the network. Castillo will bring Oxygen viewers behind-the-scenes content from the network's various programming such as hosting live "After Shows" and "Cast Chats." She will kick-off her duties at New York Fashion Week, hosting coverage of the week's events from runway shows to red carpet parties that will be available on Oxygen.com and the network's social sites. In addition, Castillo will be moderating a GOOGLE+Hangout on Tuesday, September 10 at 7 PM ET for the highly anticipated premiere of the network's new docu-series "Preachers of L.A." She can currently be seen on Oxygen.com hosting exclusive interviews with the cast from the empowering series "My Big Fat Revenge."

Castillo's "All About Fashion Week" segments will focus on the hottest trends coming off the runways of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Spring 2014 Collections. She will be providing backstage coverage from runway shows including, Pamella Roland, Steven Alan, Brandon Sun. and Milly by Michelle Smith. The segments will introduce Susie to Oxygen viewers and offer sponsorship opportunities for advertisers.

Her first major exposure with the network was as the host of real-time coverage of New York Fashion Week, presenting "All About" segments, attending fashion shows, and covering the week's events on oxygen.com and the Oxygen social networks. She was also seen on oxygen.com hosting exclusive interviews with the cast of the empowering new docu-series My Big Fat Revenge.

In 2003, Susie became the third Latina to win the Miss USA Pageant, prompting People en Español to name her one of their 25 Most Beautiful. Among Susie's other accomplishments are cohosting the NBC series School Pride, E! News, Live! With Regis and Kelly, and serving as daily host of MTV's TRL, and hosting Big Ten, TRL's New Year's Eve, The VMAs on Overdrive, The Hills After Show, and multiple Real World Reunion specials. Fluent in Spanish, Susie hosted the Syndicated MTV Radio show TRLatino, which was developed specially for her. She also wrote the book Confidence is Queen: The Four Keys to Ultimate Beauty Through Positive Thinking, published by Penguin. As an actress, Susie starred in Tyler Perry's hit TBS sitcom House of Payne and guest starred on the hit ABC shows Castle and My Wife and Kids, as well as UPN's Half and Half. Her film work includes Disney's Underdog, Hallmark's A Holiday Engagement and the upcoming feature Electric Slide.
