Noticias Telemundo to Present U.S. Premiere of Acclaimed Documentary ASTRAL, 12/25

Noticias Telemundo presents the US premiere of the acclaimed documentary ASTRAL, a revealing look at the hardships experienced by immigrants attempting perilous voyages across the Mediterranean Sea to reach the safety of European ports, this Sunday, December 25 at 11:30 AM ET/10:30 CT.

Renowned Spanish journalist and filmmaker Jordi Évole set off on the "Astral," a top-of-the-line sailboat converted into a rescue vessel, to chronicle first hand the human tragedies that befall refugees on the high seas and the mysticism and dedication of the rescue crews committed to saving their lives.

The "Astral" is a sailboat built in the 1970s and donated by a private owner to Proactiva Open Arms, an NGO with a mission to help the thousands of refugees fleeing war, violence and extreme poverty in countries such as Syria and Nigeria to seek safe HAVEN in Europe. Their heartbreaking stories serve as testimony to raise awareness in the Hispanic community of the global scope of the immigration drama and the positive role volunteers can play in addressing the problem.
