Deadline reports that Martin Sheen has joined the cast of Warren Beatty's upcoming Howard Hughes movie, in which Beatty also stars as Hughes.

Not much has been revealed about the project, but the story follows Hughes' assistant (Alden Ehrenreich) and his love interest (Lilly Collins). Annette Bening and Matthew Broderick are also in the cast.

Sheen's upcoming big screen projects include The Boxcar Children, Undisovered Gyrl, Badge of Honor, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Trash and The Autopsy of Jane Doe. He has also recently appeared on TV in his son Charlie Sheen's series Anger Management. He is well known for his portrayal of President Jed Bartlet on The West Wing.

The actor has appeared on Broadway in The Crucible, Julius Caesar, Death of a Salesman, The Subject Was Roses (for which he received a Tony nomination in 1965) and Never Live Over a Pretzel Factory, as well as off-Broadway's Hello and Goodbye, Romeo and Juliet, Hamlet and The Wicked Cooks.
