Mariah Carey to Release Children's Book Inspired By ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS

PEOPLE reports exclusively that singer Mariah Carey will release a children's picture book inspired by her holiday hit, "All I Want for Christmas Is You". The song has sold over 14 million copies since its 1994 release.

"When I wrote All I Want For Christmas Is You it was my dream for it to become a classic Christmas song," Carey tells PEOPLE in a statement. "I am so proud of the song's impact as it continues to create memories for fans each year." She continues, "I am thrilled to be able to bring the story of the song to new generations of families with the picture book."

Featuring the lyrics to the holiday classic, the book will follow "a little girl whose greatest holiday wish is for a new puppy."

It was recently announced that Carey will helm and star in a holiday film, to be part of Hallmark Channel's Countdown to Christmas.

All I Want for Christmas Is You hits bookshelves on November 10th.
