Kal Penn to Lead David Shore & Vince Gilligan's CBS Pilot BATTLE CREEK

According to Deadline, Kal Penn has been tapped to lead CBS' upcoming drama pilot BATTLE CREEK from David Shore (HOUSE) and Vince Gilligan (BREAKING BAD).

The project "centers on a detective and an FBI agent with very different world views who are teamed up to clean up the semi-mean streets of Battle Creek, Michigan. Penn will play another local detective who initially has reservations about the newly arrived FBI agent."

Penn is known for his role portraying the character Dr. Lawrence Kutner on the television series House and the character Kumar Patel in the Harold and Kumar comedy films. He is also recognized for his performance in the critically acclaimed film The Namesake. The actors recent pilot for ABC, Prairie Dogs, was not picked up for a spot on the network's schedule. He most recently appeared in CBS' WE ARE MEN, which was cancelled earlier this season.
