According to The Hollywood Reporter, Julia Roberts and Jack O'Connell are both currently in talks to join George Clooney in Jodi Foster's upcoming drama MONEY MONSTER. Originally written by Alan DiFore and Jim Kouf, the film's current script was drafted by Jamie Linden.

Clooney will play "Lee Gates, a bombastic television stock huckster, whose program - Money Monster - and life are taken hostage by an outraged gunman (O'Connell). As much of the world watches live, Gates must keep himself alive and, with help from the woman who produces the show (Roberts), uncover the truth behind a tangle of big money lies. The script is said to unfold in near real-time."

Roberts recenlty accepted the Hollywood Film Award for her portrayal in AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY. She will next appear in the TV movie version of THE NORMAL HEART.

Her past film credits include Mirror Mirror, Larry Crowne, Eat Pray love, Duplicity, Charlie Wilson's War, Ocean's Eleven and Ocean's Twelve, Closer, Mona Lisa Smile, Erin Brockovich, Notting Hill, Stepmom, Steel Magnolias, Pretty Woman, Mystic Pizza and more.
