Director Jonas Cuaron is Alfonso Cuaron's son - the pair recently co-wrote GRAVITY. Alfonso Cuaron, Carlos Cuaron and Alex Garcia will produce DESIERTO, with executive producers Lucas Akoskin and Santiago Garcia Galvan.

The film follows a group of illegal immigrants who attempt to cross the border but are halted by Morgan's character, who "has taken up border patrol duties in his own racist hands". Bernal plays one of the immigrants.

Morgan's upcoming projects include The Adventures of Beatle, Solace, The Salvation and The Rut. His recent film credits include Red Dawn, The Possession, Peace, Love, & Misunderstanding, Texas Killing Fields, The Resident, Jonah Hex, Taking Woodstock and Watchmen. He also played 'Denny Duquette' on the TV series Grey's Anatomy for three years and appeared in the TV show Supernatural.
