According to The Hollywood Reporter, Joy Mangano, the inspiration behind David O. Rossell's new film JOY, made her return to HSN for a 24-hour marathon, selling more than 250,000 of her signature product, the Miracle Mop.

Mangano's appearance began live on HSN beginning at midnight and sold 40,000 mops at the price of $19.95 a pop in the first hour. Additional items for sale included a matching bucket ($14.95), the super absorbent mop head ($9.95), and the 2 piece mesh bag ($4.95).

The inventor first introduced the Miracle Mop to HSN viewers 25 years ago. She followed her success with the invention of the 'huggable hanger.'

JOY stars Jennifer Lawrence, Robert De Niro, Edgar Ramirez, Diane Ladd, Virginia Madsen, Isabella Rossellini, Elisabeth Röhm, Dascha Polanco and Bradley Cooper. The film hit theaters on Christmas Day

JOY is the wild story of a family across four generations centered on the girl who becomes the woman who founds a business dynasty and becomes a matriarch in her own right. Betrayal, treachery, the loss of innocence and the scars of love, pave the road in this intense emotional and human comedy about becoming a true boss of family and enterprise facing a world of unforgiving commerce.

Allies become adversaries and adversaries become allies, both inside and outside the family, as Joy's inner life and fierce imagination carry her through the storm she faces.

David O. Russel directs, co-wrote the story and penned the screenplay for the film.
